If you are a Union policyholder, you can take advantage of eye examinations at our clinics that are contracted with Union under the terms applicable to Union policyholders. At the same time, as part of the Eye Care Package,
you can claim a contribution for glasses frames and/or prescription lenses for children under 18. Our experts will be happy to help you with an eye examination, explain the available options, and advise you on how to apply for the benefit.

Frequently asked questions about the Union eyewear contribution

How much reimbursement can I receive?
The reimbursement amount depends on the insured person’s age and the type of optical aid. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you may receive up to €100. The requirements and how often you can claim may vary for children and adults.
Do I need a prescription, and who can issue it?
Yes. To apply for reimbursement, you need a a prescription for glasses or the relevant optical aid issued by an ophthalmologist. Before making a purchase, check your insurer’s current requirements and make sure your voucher is still valid.
How do I apply for reimbursement?
Purchase your glasses from an optician who meets VšZP’s requirements. Then apply to VšZP for reimbursement and provide the required documents. Make sure you submit your application by the specified deadline.
Is there anything I should be aware of?
Before making a purchase, check that you meet all the eligibility requirements for reimbursement, that you have a valid prescription from your ophthalmologist, and that your chosen optician meets your insurer’s requirements. Make sure you submit your application by the deadline and keep your proof of payment.
