MYKITA was founded in Berlin in 2003, and its name refers to the former kindergarten – "Kita" in German – where the brand began. Its Berlin origins are reflected in its philosophy: to experiment, seek out its own technical solutions, and never view manufacturing as separate from design.
The glasses are handcrafted at MYKITA HAUS in Berlin. A signature element of the brand is the patented screwless spiral hinge, which is not hidden, but instead becomes part of the frame's aesthetic. The exceptionally lightweight metal models are created from thin sheets of flexible stainless steel, while MYKITA also works with Acetate Renew and its own MYLON® material, produced using 3D printing technology.
MYKITA demonstrates how technical construction itself can create aesthetics. Without prominent logos or traditional symbols of luxury, its eyewear is recognizable by its lightness, clean lines, and details that always serve a specific function.
